The Catholic University of Brasília (Portuguese: Universidade Católica de Brasília, UCB) is a private, non-profit, Catholic University located in Brasília, the federal capital of Brazil. It is the only private University of the Federal District and lies at the 6th position among all private institutions in Brazil. It is maintained by the Catholic Archdiocese of Brasília.

History
In 1974, the "Catholic School of Humanities (FCCH)", with courses in Business Administration, Economics and Education is founded in Brasília to fulfill the education needs of the new capital, Brasília. The history is attached to the creation of Brasília, in the early 50's, in order to move the capital from Rio de Janeiro to a more central location. Brasília became the major growing city in the country and the courses at the first private college of the capital (the Catholic School of Humanities) were multiplied over the years, making the University to be renamed, in 1980 as "Catholic Integrated College of Brasília (FICB)". At the end of 1994, it was recognized as "Catholic University of Brasilia - UCB" by the Federal Education Council through the Ministerial Decree 1.827 of December 28. The Catholic University of Brasília - UCB is the only private University of the Federal District and lies at the 6th position among all private institutions in Brazil.

Schools, faculties and institutes
UCB has three campuses: the Campus I (the main Campus) is located in the city of Taguatinga away 21 km from Brasília, the Campus II Asa Norte and III Asa Sul are located in the city of Brasília. The university still counts with three associated units in Asa Sul: Dom Bosco School, CEMA and Pius XII, that along with Universa Foundation offer most part of the Graduate "Lato Sensu" Courses.The Hospital of the Catholic University of Brasília (HUCB) is also located in Taguatinga.
UCB has units of academic support, among them are: the Library System - SIBI that coordinates five physical libraries and a virtual library with more than 100,000 titles and 218,000 volumes, Software Sections (22) of which seven are public, Publisher Universa, 147 laboratories, HUCB - Hospital of the Catholic University of Brasilia, Catholic Online and Distance Education Centre - LCC / EAD that offers postgraduate "Lato Sensu" degrees, undergraduate (bachelor's and licentiate) degrees, extension and counts with 25 poles in Brazil (21), Japan (3) and Angola (1).
Altogether UCB has an area of about 620.000m² and approximately 116.000m² built around the Federal District (Campus I, CAAN, CAAS, HUCB and associated units) area.
At the main Campus, UCB is divided in 6 Schools:
- School of Health
Counts with 16 courses (7 Bachelors, 2 Bachelors / Undergraduate, 1 Technological Distance Course, 3 Master's degrees and 3 Doctorate Degrees).
- Polytechnic School
Counts with 13 courses (5 Bachelors, 3 Technological Degrees, 3 Technological Distance Courses e 2 Masters).
- School of Business
Counts with 21 courses (6 Bachelors, 3 Bachelors distance courses, 4 Technological Courses, 5 Technological Distance Courses, 2 Masters and 1 PhD).
- School of Education and Humanities
Counts with 12 courses (6 Undergraduate Degrees, 1 Bachelor, 3 Distance courses, 1 Masters and 1 Doctorate in Education).
- School of Medicine
Counts with 2 courses (one Bachelor and one master's degree).
- School of Law
Counts with 4 courses (1 Bachelor, 2 Technological Distance Courses and 1 Master).
Education
In addition to normal classroom courses, the university has a distance education program. In 2003, the number of students enrolled in all distance education courses was 1,869, which rose to 3,283 in 2006, a 75% increase. Up to 2006, the University only offered eight undergraduate courses and seven postgraduate courses over distance-learning. In later years, the online course curriculum was expanded with the help of the International Covenants on Centres for Distance Education, or PEADs.
Nowadays, the University holds 34 Undergraduate Degree Courses, 27 Graduate Courses, 6 MBA programs and 5 Doctoral Graduate Courses.
According to the Student April Editor's Guide 2013, 80 stars were awarded to 22 courses at UCB. The Course of Economics received the highest score, with 05 stars. In category 4 stars, there were 12 courses: Management, Accounting, Law (CAAS and Campus I), Physical Education (CAAS and Campus I), Pharmacy, Social Communication (journalism, advertising and marketing), Psychology, International Relations and IT Systems. 7 Other courses earned three stars: Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Dentistry and Pedagogy.
As the release of the RUF, University Ranking Sheet, in the year 2012 UCB appears in qualitative levels on the 35th place overall and 6th among all private institutions in Brazil.
According to the disclosure of the Leaf 2014 University Ranking, courses in Psychology, International Relations and Business Administration are those with greater highligh.
In Pro-Rectory of Postgraduate Studies and Research, the number of enrolled students increased by 40% in 2013.
